The black comes from 壬, the ocean. Big mind, restless current — you need room to move. The monkey (申): clever and adaptable — you can fix almost anything. Cancer is water: your strength goes into guarding your people and your place.

When the Black Monkey fights

When you fightYou talk your way out.Your mind is quick. When it turns against you, you change the subject or make a joke.

How you're misreadPeople say you're never serious.Heavy air is hard for you. It doesn't mean you take it lightly.

Your strength in a conflictYou find the way out.You think about how to fix it before who's to blame.

What Cancer addsYou go into your shell.Cancer water makes your heart bruise more easily. Before you hide: "I'm hurt."
